Cookie Exchange 2015

Thank you Carol for hosting this cooking exchange.  I love to bake cookies and I love to collect recipes so this is right up my alley.  I have been making this recipe about 45 years.  It is a family favorite and taste better after sitting in an air tight container a few days.  I'v never frozen them.

Butter Spritz Cookies

(Have all ingredients at room temperature)
Mix together:
1 lb. Butter
1 1/3 cup Sugar
2 teaspoon Vanilla
6 Egg Yolks
Add and mix with hand:
5 cups flour

Dough should be very soft and room temp. Use a cookie press with flower design or roll in  small balls and press down with palm.  Place 1/2 maraschino cherry in the center.

Bake at 400 for about 7 minutes.  Cookies should be set but not brown.  Watch carefully, they

burn very quickly.  Cool on a wire rack and enjoy these festive little melt in your mouth jewels.  Enjoy!!!
